The Monero community is excited to announce the launch of the FCMP++ (Full-Chain Membership Proofs) Optimization Coding Competition!

See all contest details here.

What is FCMP++?

FCMP++ is one of the most significant privacy enhancements to Monero since its inception. This upgrade would improve sender-privacy from 1 in 16 to 1 in over 150 million while maintaining compatibility with existing wallets and addresses!

About the Competition

We're looking to optimize the performance of two critical libraries used in FCMP++ (helioselene and ec-divisors). This is your chance to make a direct contribution to Monero's future while competing for 350xmr (~$100,000 at time of writing) in rewards and global recognition.

Competition Details

  • Timeline: Competition runs from April 28th to June 30th, 2025
  • Focus Area: elliptic curve arithmetic
  • Submission Requirements: detailed here
  • Judging Criteria: Speed improvement, code quality, and maintainability

How to Enter

  1. Review the competition details and rules at: http://github.com/j-berman/fcmp-plus-plus-optimization-competition
  2. Clone the repository and familiarize yourself with the codebase
  3. Submit your optimized implementation according to the guidelines in the README

Hey everyone! It’s been a huge month for us at CypherGoat. Since our public launch in March, we’ve been moving fast and April was no exception. Here’s what we’ve been up to:

From a development standpoint we integrated with two new exchanges (BitcoinvVN, swapuz), completely redesigned our webui, as well as listed more than 20 new coins.

To celebrate these achievements we are running a $100 XMR giveaway on twitter:

Join the giveaway here

We are extremely grateful for the support we have gotten so far from this great community and can't wait to see what is next in this amazing journey!

The regulation is part of a broader AML framework that includes bank and payment accounts, passbooks and safe-deposit boxes, “crypto-asset accounts allowing anonymisation of transactions,” and “accounts using anonymity-enhancing coins.”

According to Binance, the funds received in the account were exchanged from Monero back into Bitcoins. According to the KRP report, most of the funds were again transferred onwards, this time in two different directions.

Binancen mukaan tilille tulleet varat vaihdettiin Moneroista takaisin Bitcoineiksi. KRP:n selvityksen mukaan suurin osa niistä siirrettiin jälleen eteenpäin, tällä kertaa kahteen eri suuntaan.

Another path followed by the KRP led police from Binance to an online service that promises to exchange virtual currency for cash instantly.

Toinen KRP:n seuraamista poluista johti poliisin Binancesta erääseen verkossa toimivaan palveluun, joka lupaa vaihtaa virtuaalivaluuttaa rahaksi välittömästi.

The dates of the transfers also coincided perfectly with the payments traced by the KRP.

Siirtojen ajankohdat myös menivät täydellisesti yksiin KRP:n jäljittämien maksujen kanssa.

Just a little post to discuss about it

+25% in a matter of hours, pretty nice

It seems that the project has been archived. I found a fork that is 19 commits ahead but it doesn't seem very active.

is it safe to use the old version? should i use the fork? are their alternatives that i should be using instead?

My goal is to be able to query and interact with the blockchain in a pythonic way.

19

This would only make the blockchain more resistant, 51% attacks practically impossible, Firo for example has implemented this, what would be the disadvantage?

AxeSwap is a platform for decentralized orderbook trading.

It allows users to swap Monero and Bitcoin Cash in a trustless manner.

Atomic swaps are a special kind of coin exchange where coins are transferred to special addresses or contracts no 3rd party could have access to.

Celebrating Monero’s Birthday with some Cake7 (MT 348)

TODAY'S 🎙SHOW:Douglas Tuman and Seth from Cake Wallet discussing Monero's 11th birthday and recent developments in the Cake Wallet ecosystem. Seth discussed several major updates to Cake Wallet, including background sync for Monero which allows wallets to stay synchronized automatically, and the implementation of a unified 12-word seed phrase system for all supported cryptocurrencies. The conversation covered the upcoming FCMP (Full Chain Membership Proofs) implementation in Monero, with Seth estimating a timeline of 6-9 months for full deployment. Seth shared insights about Cake Wallet's integration with the Open Crypto Pay system, enabling seamless point-of-sale transactions in Switzerland. He also discussed the importance of maintaining a symbiotic relationship between Monero and other cryptocurrencies, particularly Bitcoin and Litecoin, as they serve as valuable on-ramps to Monero. The discussion concluded with Seth emphasizing the need for the Monero community to focus on improving user experience without compromising privacy, and to be more open to integration with existing cryptocurrency infrastructure like BTC Pay Server.

I’m having trouble installing v1.0.19 on Tails. This is the command I’m using. Can anyone figure out what I’m doing wrong? It keeps saying “Failed to download Haveno binary”.

What's Changed

New Contributors

Full Changelog: 1.0.18...v1.0.19

Verification

The provided hashes can be used to verify the JAR file inside the binary, NOT the Haveno installer:

  • You can verify on Linux the jar file with:
sha256sum [PATH TO HAVENO APP]/lib/app/desktop-1.0.19-SNAPSHOT-all.jar\

The output need to match the value from the haveno-v1.0.19-linux-x86_64-SNAPSHOT-all.jar.SHA-256 file.

  • You can verify on OSX the jar file with:
shasum -a256 [PATH TO HAVENO APP]/Haveno.app/Contents/app/desktop-1.0.19-SNAPSHOT-all.jar\

The output need to match the value from the haveno-v1.0.19-macos-SNAPSHOT-all.jar.SHA-256 file.

If you want to reproduce and verify the hash of the jar file locally, you need to do so on Windows or Linux using Java 21.0.6+7.0.LTS (Adopt-Hotspot) from http://github.com/adoptium/temurin21-binaries/releases and the v1.0.19 release tag. Because of the signing and notarization process that requires the developer certificate used for the build on macOS it is not possible to create the same jar on macOS.
